Legend Madness is BACK!!!

The INEX Legends are back for the the 7th running of Legend Madness! This year's race will be held August 3rd as the co-feature along side the Montana Big 5 Super Series inaugural Wild Fire 125 Super Late Model event sponsored by Missoula Motor Company.

In an attempt to continue the growth of Legend Madness the decision was made to feature it along side one of Mission Valley Super Oval's premier events in 2024 and move the date to a mid-season date. The obvious answer was to add heat to an already explosive event that will host some of America's finest short track driver's on one of the most unique tracks still operating today. The expansion of the Wildfire 125 and the Montana Big 5 Super Series has drawn significant attention from many Super Late Model drivers and teams including 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series 2 time pole winner Jesse Love. More to come in a featured article regarding for the Wild Fire 125.

The INEX Legends will co-host the event with four 30 lap main events. The drivers can anticipate two 30 lap main events for the Pro & Masters division and two 30 lap main events for the Semi-Pro and Young Lion divisions. The Pro & Master's divisions will compete for $800 to win each main event. If a driver is able to win both of the twin 30 lap main events they will unlock a $600 bonus. That would raise the first place payout to an incredible $2,200! The Semi-Pro & Young Lion main events will follow the same structure and pay $600 for each main event with a potential $400 bonus. When you add the potential payouts for both divisions the 1st place money alone is $3,800.

The next important move the track made was to register this race as an INEX National Qualifier. That will ensure the event is marketed by INEX and drivers as anticipation grows and knowledge of this event spreads. When asked MVSO promoter Tony Undem said this about the event, "The legend class has been a bit a struggle for us to grow locally, but this year we are seeing more and more local interest with people buying new cars and prepping for this season." he continued "It's encouraging to see the growth. We hope with some of the changes we have made that we will see more drivers from throughout the region as well."

We took a moment to meet with Kalispell native and co-owner of TRC Management Tyler Corpron who owns and operates a race shop centered around all services related to the INEX Legends along side his brother Tristan Corpron, defending Legend Madness champion. In an interview he expressed his gratitude for the work to improve the MVSO facility, he said "I just can't express enough to Tony and his team about what a great job they have done to update this facility. We were worried when Montana Raceway Park closed about what racing in Montana looked like in the future and they have done a tremendous job adapting and improving the facility for the fans and drivers." he continued "Hosting the biggest Legend race in the Northwest has shown us how committed he is to helping us grow our local Legend class." When asked about this race specifically he emphasized how cool it will be to have their race broadcast on the Racing America Network. He also mentioned that he loved the Twin 30 format and how that helps disperse the payout through-out the field better." Tyler hopes to see improved car counts all year with the efforts Tony and his team are putting forth. "I really hope the guys locally and throughout the northwest see the work these guys are putting in and make the tow." He joked, "Where else in America can you race a track this cool and have Flathead Lake just a few minutes away for the family to enjoy while we suffer in the heat, dialing in the car for the day!"
